Our Mission Statement
Health Through Communications Foundation (HTCF) exists to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities through medical care, health education, and mind–body–spirit healing.
We focus on three interconnected areas:
– Haiti, where we support a nonprofit hospital, train health professionals, and offer community health and educational programs; – Haitian immigrants and underserved families in San Diego, where we provide trauma-healing support and mind–body–spirit tools; and – Global education, where we share what we have learned about the emotional and spiritual roots of illness, cancer remission, and resilience through online programs, podcasts, radio, and social media.
We believe that everyone—regardless of income, location, or background—deserves the opportunity to understand their health, access compassionate care, and use their own innate healing abilities to create a more hopeful future.
About Dr. Carolle
Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat, MD, FACOG, is a Haitian-born, board-certified OB-GYN, fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and holistic physician. Early in her career, after working in traditional hospital-based medicine in the United States, she realized she could not provide the kind of deep, compassionate, whole-person care her patients truly needed. She chose to step away from that system and created a different path.
For more than three decades, Dr. Carolle has devoted her life to a “triangle” of service:
– Haiti – co-administering a nonprofit hospital, training medical students and health workers, supporting schools and community programs, and helping build Parc Dr. Carolle, a community sports park for girls and youth.
– Haitian immigrants and underserved families in San Diego – offering volunteer trauma-healing sessions, mind–body–spirit tools such as the Dr. Carolle Instant Antidistress Method (DCIAM), and mentoring youth and pre-med students, medical students and residents.
– A small private mind–body–spirit practice and global teaching work – where she helps individuals explore the emotional, spiritual, and lifestyle roots of illness, and shares what she has learned about cancer remission through emotional healing.
She is the author of several books, including St Miraculous Cancer Remission, and the host of the English-language “Cancer Remission Through Emotional Healing” YouTube channel and podcast, as well as the Haitian Kreyòl program “Bonsante Ak Dr. Carolle.” Across all of her work, she teaches that true healing must include the body, the mind, and the spirit, and that a strong spiritual foundation can help people survive, and grow, through even the most difficult circumstances.
Founder & Activist
Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat, M.D
Dr. Carolle was born in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. Because of her family’s economic situation while growing up, she occasionally had to go to bed hungry. She grew up in a country with very few resources and an extremely oppressive and dangerous political climate. Schools closed at the first sign of political unrest; books were banned and rare to find. Dr. Carolle knows first hand the impact of the very problems that she now works diligently to solve.
She also lived in a caste society wherein women were considered second-class citizens without the opportunities and rights that men automatically enjoyed.
In spite of these challenges, she was given tremendous support from her relatives and was brought up to believe that she could do and be anything she desired. Because of them, she decided that she was going to be intelligent and go as far as any man could ever go. She was going to be different! She was going to be a champion of hope! She was not going to allow the circumstances that she had been born under slow her down in any way, shape, or form.
