A one-room classroom was built, and furniture, school materials, and teacher’s salary were provided in a remote town with no access to nearby schools.
In 1999, the Aubiès Frank Scholarship was created, which helps the top 40 laureates at the Lycée Philippe Jules with school admissions fees and supplies.
Scholarships for those unable to afford school admissions fees were also established in many areas of Haiti. These students are now lawyers, doctors, and agronomists who are paying it forward, sponsoring children like them in their respective towns.
In 2001, in collaboration with the Art Miles Mural Project© and the Barona Band of Kumeyaay Nation, an art program was started in La Vallée. Teachers’ salaries and materials were provided.
One of those students now teaches art in other villages. Funds were raised to purchase a brand-new motorcycle so it would be easier for him to teach his skills in remote areas.
