Education and getting basic needs met are the key to a brighter future for all the families we support in rural, highly populated communities that were hard hit by the earthquake that occurred Jan. 12, 2010.
The costs of basic foods like rice, and corn are at record highs following the earthquake. Fortunately, we have land in La Vallee, area about 75 miles from Port au Prince. Helping growing food and raising livestock is a sure way out of poverty in a short and long-term basis.

- $100: Provides seedlings, farming tools & education for a family garden;
- $150: Provides seedlings, farming tools, two chickens & education for a family garden;
- $200: Provides seedlings, farming tools, a goat & education for a family garden;

The HTCF supports community efforts to provide adequate health
care access and well-rounded education and economic development
opportunities to the vulnerable and under-served members of
society in the U.S., Haiti, and the World.
The Health
Through Communications Foundation was founded in 1993 by Carolle
Jean-Murat,
MD, a Haitian ob-gyn practicing in San Diego, California. The
goal of the foundation is to increase health consciousness.
In 1999, Dr.
Carolle who left Haiti in 1970 decided that it was time
to go home.

was created to apply the foundation mission and philosophy specifically
to under-served rural communities of Haiti. 
At the HTCF we believe that everyone deserves an opportunity
to achieve and enjoy a happy, healthy and productive life.

The Basics of Life
We understand that the physical, mental, spiritual and financial
well-being of individuals directly impacts their ability to
recognize and maximize opportunities available to them in their
lives. Without this basic knowledge, imagine how difficult life
is for these human beings. The HTCF has created special programs
